Have been on vacation for a week, first wifes grandmas funeral.
And then motorweek in wifes home town.
So the Galaxie got about 1000 + more miles more. No leaks did not used any oil
did not overheat on 3 cruicenights need the first valveadjustment now after 5 years
and about 20000 miles.
But with new pushrods and new adjusters for the rockers when i built the engine.
So i figure they have worn in with each others now, can hear a slight valvtrain noice

First the funeral in Sorsele old woden church.
and a small hat for Bill Conley ;D

Then of to our friend Anders in Lycksele. Gravel roads and rain so i had to spend some time to wash the car

The forecast was overcast and rain for the whole week so fewer partisipants than usual. But in the end the
weather was nice a few qiuck showers on wednesday

They have a "poker run"and one station is across the bay from Anders so we usualy go there

scraped this one had no engine put an engine in it and sold it and keept the best one

Thanks for sharing Heo, always fun to see your pictures. I had a friend in elementary school here in Minnesota, late ‘60’s - early ‘70’s whose father drove a Volvo 544, an unusual vehicle here in America to say the least lol. I can say I had a ride in it a couple times.

Oh man that was a hard one!  1960 Opel Kapitan.  I knew it had to be German or eastern European from the Mercedes 220 styling...

And we got a winner. Yes Opel Kapitän 1960  till 62 i think, Opels top of the line. Later the Admiral became top of the line
Came with Optional Chevy 283  and the coupe with 327. When GM closed in my town i was given two NOS aircleaners
For the Coupe 327s Sold as soon as i got the ad out. I think it was -65 Corvette dual snorkle 250-300 hp with cromed lid

On the way home, there is a restored old Gulf gas station we stopped there to take some pictures.
First a car with a dutch couple made a u-turn and wanted to take some pictures.
Then another car made a U-turn. It was a profesional photographer out taking photos of abandoned
houses for a photo exebition
She also wanted to take pics, She worked over an hour with her cameras. She mailed us around 30 photos today

Heo, the best thing about a 'less than perfect' car is that you can drive it and enjoy it without worrying about small stone marks or minor scuffs. Those are the best cars to have, in my opinion.

Doug, Onceuponatime i had ambitions. but when the waterbasedpaintjob started flaking of after a couple of years
i gave up. Now i use it like a regular driver and it is so relaxing. Gravelroad, ranistrom, snow..... bring it on

Thanks, I like our roadtrips. Miss the Junkhunting trips with dad each autum. driving around in the "outback".
Making dinner over openfire in the woods. Finding small villages with interesting caracters
that had saved a lot of cars to power sawmills or building milkingmachies or .....
