Title: Ford FE Water Pump Differences
Post by: drdano on July 09, 2013, 04:33:49 PM
This is an FYI thread more than anything regarding the small differences in FE water pumps.  I'm in the middle of a 3G alternator swap on my '62, so a newer pump had to be installed that has the alternator mounting holes in it.  Here is a good visual of a C4SE pump (old generator style) and a newer C5AE pump on bottom (alternator style).

If anyone has any other unique FE water pump photos and specs to share, post them here.  There are reverse-rotation pumps used in marine applications, but I've never seen one personally.  I'm sure someone has a photo of a cammer water pump for identification purposes.  *cough*JayB*cough*    :)

Don't choke there, Dr. Dano ;D  I don't have a stock SOHC water pump, but Paul Munro makes a duplicate; here's a couple of photos:
