Title: Wanted: BBC 396/402/427 crank
Post by: fairlaniac on August 08, 2023, 06:05:30 PM
Buddy of mine needs a crank. Comp cam ate the lifters in 20 miles or so. It was on it's last cut. In SE Pennsylvania. Let me know if anyone has something usable?

Thanks!

Wow, Last cut = 0.060 undersized...I've got some 0.040 bearings. Would that help?

Bob,
I'll keep you in mind. I'm not sure what is up with his engine builder? He doesn't want to cut past -.020? I advised him to have a conversation with his builder.

0.030 undersize was common for almost every crank shaft.  There were lisitings for 0.060 bearings in the books back in the day, but I have no idea what is actually available now.  I saw the boxes a few days ago.
