My friend has a 1962 Galaxie with a 352 and the 2spd automatic.
The auto needs work and he is considering installing a C6 instead.
I just don't remember if there are any bolt up issues with the 1962 352 to a 1967-1974 C6 for an FE.
If there are any "better" transmissions that will bolt up please let me know.
This 1962 Galaxie is just a fun cruiser with mostly stock everything.
Thanks and have a great 4th.

C6 would be a good swap.
The FE C6 should bolt right up to the 352.
Early "pull type" starter won't work, need the later type.
The cross member (cutting and welding) would need modifications.
Possible driveshaft length and slip yoke different as well.
Cooler line differences too.
Probably need a later 352/390 flex plate as well.
I put a C6 into a 63 Galaxie to replace the cast iron Cruise-O-Matic.
Had to mod the cross member, cooler lines and needed a late type starter and flex plate.
Also need the dipstick and tube for the C6.
Vac line for the modulator.
In this my case the drive shaft went right in, but I think the 2 spd drive shaft might not work.
I don't recall any issues with the speedo cable.

This situation has been taken care of.
Through the forum a complete engine and transmission 352FE, factory 4bbl, Cruise-O-Matic, was attained and will become the new driveline for the 1962 Galaxie.
I appreciate all the useful input.
Have a great day.
