Nice photographs. One-horse towns are the best towns, given than towns with more horses are generally filled with manure....

About 70 years passed between those pics. The house to the right closest to the camera was built in the 30s.
First house in town where the basement was dug out with an excavator. The union threatened with a strike
when their jobs was threatened by a machine.
Today they would go out on strike if they had to dug out the basement by hand ;D
In the 50s the mainstreet was also Riksväg 13...like interstate 13. Main highway up the coast
nowadays E4 and pass outside the town
The red building farthest away from the camera is town church been there since atleast 1472 probably longer
Building in the middle of the pic was Åke Larssons hardwarestore a real hardwarestore where you could buy everything
you needed nails, bolts ,dynamite, guns, motorcycles, plywood, gunpowder you name it
Old man Åke Larsson Drowe Packards as long as they were made, went for Chryslers after that

Now, THAT's a hat!

>The red building farthest away from the camera is town church been there since at least 1472 probably longer

Had some business contacts in Britian years ago.  We got to talking about the differences in housing here and there and such, and my guy says "Fun fact - my house is older than your country."  LOL.

;D  Yes my house is probably atleast 100 years older than your country. When i put in new windows i started thinking, this size of logs is from a tree
150-170 years old so ...they where a small plant when Cristopher Columbus thought a  boat trip west would be fun

Are Sweden's crosswalks set up like Russia's, where the pedestrians are basically targets? I would have zero confidence in a car not turning me into a stain on the road. Caution would be prudent.  :o

Not only the bicycles, they taken away all the peoples if you look at the new picture ???
Nowadays it is like a ghost town after 4.00 PM and not much activity before that
You see to the left in that brick building the stores is abandoned i estimate that 75
percent of the store premises is empty

No i would say that you are pretty safe on a Swedish crosswalk, but i was hit one time
Me and the wife was walking a crosswalk when a green Ford... not only did not stop but
accelerated. I pushed the wife away and jumped up in the air so i landed on the hood
dented the hood and cracked the windshield when i stepped down the idiot run away.
He parked at a store down the street so i run there and pulled him out of the car to give
him some knucklebased pain. But it was an old man, where the soul had left the body totaly senile
could not beat him up
