Title: FYI - Block Porosity TSB
Post by: fairlaniac on October 16, 2022, 07:01:16 PM
Here is some info about the TSB on some Ford blocks and oil leaks due to porosity and the repairs. Just for enjoyable reading or your personal files. A Fairlane Club of America member kept having issues with oil leaking in his '69 Cobra 428CJ. This fixed it after a long battle.

Joe, It is how the conversation started with my friend, Warren who provided the info? I guess we’ll have a look this winter.

I have seen that exact repair on a factory 427 SOHC block

I scrapped a d4 block few years ago because of porosity. All along the pan rail and even in to the main saddles. It probably would have been fine for a stocker, I mean it did run for who knows how many years. But I knew I would never use it and storage space was limited at that time.
