This voodoo cam part # 62004 will be going 390 Fairlane , looking for likes or dis-likes on this part . Getting info for a friend , thanks..

the motor is 10.1 comp , edelbrock rpm , headers with s holley 770 street avenger , auto with a small converter and a 3.50 rear gear . the specs on the cam are 233/241 @ 50 564/583 . Any feed back is wanted , he wants a hyd  for low up keep . Thought i would throw it on the forum and get him some idea s on it .. Thanks guys Bud

Seems like quite a bit of cam for that gear and converter IMO.  I am running a 62002 in an otherwise stock 428 CJ, which has very nice manners and may be a bit milder than he wants for the nice heads and exhaust.  Their 62003 might be the better compromise IMO.

yeah i thought it is a little big to , i do not know anyone running it and suggested he look at the comp thumper series , something smaller but with a lumpy sound . Thanks for advice i will pass it along .

The Voodoos have a very good reputation, but I think that one is just too big for that application.  Maybe the 002 or the 001 would be a better choice.

I thought thumper was a rabbit LOL, I hate those cams all show no go. Total street rod logic is all....Jon

Going by the specs posted, that cam doesn't seem too out of hand for the application in my opinion. No stall posted other than a "small converter", so he may want to consult somebody on the right one for the cam. Those gears would be ok as  long as he isn't running a real tall tire.
The rest of the parts listed certainly seem up to the task.
And +1 on the Thumper cams. I call them Poser cams, or Chihuahua cams....all bark and no bite. Leave them to the street rod guys who only want the sound.

I think he said the converter stalls around 2000 ? , lunati has an older grind its  228 / 235 @ 50  .536 lift  , that would probably work good with his stuff , I think he s leaning towards a smaller cam after feed back and thanks for all the input , and the humor about the thumper cams  lol  - just giving him even more to think about ..  Bud

Well.... This last weekend was a BIG weekend for me! So I was out for a couple of days.... Being a Military man myself.... I could use the R&R, so to speak LOL. But to also pay my respects for those who gave all!!! Spent some time with the Family and very close friends!

As for the cam, your friend would need a bigger stall... More like a 2800~3000 stall for that VooDoo to work well. Other then that, I think your on the right track! JMHO
