Title: Putting a tko 600 behind a SBF
Post by: JacksFordParts on June 22, 2022, 10:38:47 PM
Will it bolt up behind a lakewood bellhousing without the tko adapter plate or is that needed?

If it’s a short input shaft TKO it will.  Otherwise it will need a spacer plate or a Quicktime bellhousing made for a stock length TKO.

Input shafts are easy to change, nothing like a Toploader.  You usually pay less than $300 for the shaft, bearing retainer, etc.

Brent, do you know if Tremec has any plans to make the newer TKXs available with the standard Toploader length input shaft? I would like a TKX, but don`t want to need to buy a new bellhousing, or a spacer/adapter plate, as I want to keep my stock bench seat.
