Title: toploader ID tag

I'm in the process of detailing a toploader and wouldn't mind loosening or removing the ID tag to do a decent job.I am assuming that it's a drive rivet holding the tag.Any thoughts on removing it? Was the tag originally bare steel or zinc plated?   Thanks!
