For reasons I've never obtained a cut-off torch. So that answer is currently out of the question. Is there a good portable torch that can generate adequate heat when working on things with "stuck" or "rusted" parts? I have the old hand held Benzo.... torch with the blue propane bottles. I've never looked but is there something portable like that but a little more heat?
I'm working on my '93 beater Ranger pickup and need to heat up the pinch bolt and the spindle for removal. I don't want to sit there all day holding a torch with barely enough heat to melt plastic.
Thanks,

I have a older HF torch and line setup that should work well enough. One plan - that I haven't had time to pursue - would be to gen up an oxy/propane deal (vs oxy acetylene). I have several 30 gallon propane tanks. I just need a decent sized oxy tank and the proper regulator, plus a cart to modify. The down side is that oxy/propane is not a welding setup. So I'm still thinking about it.

mapp gas is a little better.

Oxy/map combo is a good portable deal. I Use it for silver soldiering, aluminium and brazing commercial refrigeration and air conditioning.

I see a lot of torches on craigslist , big and small , victor , air products , smith , all good stuff , fair prices I have seem in my area . may want to look there .

Victor is usually the premium brand equipment and mostly what you'd find in an industrial welding shop. Should be able to easy find repair parts for a Victor torch. Mapp gas - the real mapp gas- is out of production.

Not ready for a oxy-acetylene set up. Too many combustibles and a smallish garage. However I did pick up a Bernzomatic ST8000T today using MAPP. Parts are flying off. Seems to work great and the trigger light is nice. Says it puts out 3750 degrees max.

I absolutely knew someone would comment. They are NOT the recalled jack stands but thank you for looking out for me. All good.
