I have C7ae-B and C6ae-D rods , would need to be checked and suggest new arp rod bolts. $75.00 a set + shipping. Thanks
-
Hiriser57, thanks.... I will get back to you
I think I found my missing rod .... but would like to have an extra set though
I gave away 8 nice sets of short rods on here and then 1 of mine went missing ... lol
Looks like no scattershield for me... I will drill my cast bell for the narrow pattern
Have a tempered 1 foot long by 9 " section of pipe will cut to make 2 halfs
Space it a bit above my cast bell wrapped around the top and sides ...
Could also bolt a plate under the cab where my feet an ankles are ... lol

Ricky, where are you located? I think I have an extra Lakewood, but I think it doesn't have a blockplate. Not light for shipping of course
-
Hey MeanGene....
Thanks, I can get a block plate or make one... am in Texas 77546
Wonder what the difference in weight is between a cast bell an Lakewood Scattershield ??
Just curious... I like to keep a log of stuff.... I weighed a 1976 C6 an a 1971 C4 with bell, no convertor/fluid
30 lb difference
Rebuilding a nice Fairlane tailshaft T-10 with later model front bearing retainer and small bolt pattern
Nice hurst 4 speed shifter with bolt on stick and shifter stop bolts ... all 3 shifter rods
Have a NOS 3/4 slider, hub, springs an keys.... 1/2 will get a synchro lock setup
Want to run it for a week or 2 before selling and then sourcing a wide ratio toploader or a 5 speed

I am not looking to sell either, but this afternoon I weighed both my factory cast iron bellhousing (1961 car version), and my early style (1990s ish) Lakewood scattershield. The Lakewood was weighed with the block plate and clutch fork, the OE iron Ford bell was weighed with the clutch fork and later style factory block plate, as I am using it with a later style 184 tooth flywheel and starter, and no lower inspection cover. The Ford bell/fork/plate totalled 31.4 pounds, the Lakewood with plate and fork was 40.2 pounds. The later version FE Lakewood bellhousings are undoubtably heavier, due to the larger outer dimensions, and a thick reinforcement plate welded to the upper flange.

Rory, Thanks .... did not realize the scattershield was that much heavier

I'll get some pictures.

Hmmmm, no idea what this is all about. Anybody know? Ricky was a long time member and apparently now he has left...
-
He was on the FE facebook page quite a bit too and I don't think I see him on there anymore either.

Saw the post yesterday, looked like he was still a member then, but didn't see any issue other than the changed name of the post.
