Can anyone tell me how accurate the current Mickey Thompson advertised slick dimensions are? I am currently running Hoosier 28X10.5 slicks on my Mustang. They measure as advertised. I borrowed and older pair of 28X10.5 Mickey Thompson slicks(on his wheels) from a friend to see if the would improve my 60ft times...which they did. His wheels were a deeper backspace so I used some spacers as a compromise just to see how they worked. They have a softer compound and do not have a stiff sidewall. Anyway, I could barely get them to fit under my car. I measured them and they are actually a 28.75x 10.125. I would like to order some but with my wheels there is no way they'll if they are still that dimension. My other alternative is to order some Hoosier 28X10 which is a softer compound and does not have a stiff sidewall.
So I guess I am asking if they are more accurate now than they used to be.

I went out and measured my MT 28x10.5 ET Streets. Measurements came in at 27.5" from outside edge of tire to outside edge of tire. Took a string and measured the middle circumference and it came in at 91.5". That's a height of 29.14". That's jacked up so they don't flatspot and with about 24 lbs of pressure. Airing them down would reduce that a little, but when they are on the ground, they flatten out to the outer tire diameter anyway. Mine are 5 years old though.

Thanks Doug I appreciate it. That's right at what these measure. On their website it says the circumference is 88" but the ones I borrowed are 91.5" like yours. Hoosier's website says their circumference is 88" which it is. That's where I run into trouble with my wheels, plus everything fits so tight in my little trailer they wouldn't fit without some major adjustments or let the air out of them. The slicks I borrowed I am sure are over 10 years old. I picked up over .10 with them so I need some softer compound slicks.

Seeme some MT sizes are closer to the sidewall designation than others. I have a new pair of MT 9x28-15 ET Drag slicks for my 69, but they are actually a bit shorter than 27 1/2"s. Rim width and tire pressure can also affect the measurements on slicks.

I talked with M/T and they said the circumference is as listed but they may stretch out over time. So, I ordered a pair and we'll see how it goes.

Mine measured the same as Rory for the 28 x 9. I also had a set of sportsman front runners that were supposed to be 26" or 25.8" per their spec. I installed them and aired them up, 25" even off the car. I was a little dissapointed. :(

Car and combo dependent for sure, but I switched to Hoosier several years ago and never looked back. I have had pairs of M/Ts that were well outside the advertised diameter. No problems with Hoosier and they 60' better than the M/Ts. Right now I prefer the 275-60x15 drag radials over slicks.
