Post by: Jb427 on July 01, 2021, 11:43:27 PM
dose anyone know the a part number for a shifter handle that will fit 66 fairlane bench seat with this style comp + shifter?

here is a link to the type of shifter i am using https://www.holley.com/products/drivetrain/shifters_components_and_accessories/manual_shifters/competition_plus/parts/3916848

That's the wrong shifter for your Fairlane.  Here's the correct body:

And this is the replacement with just the body and a bolt-on shifter:

I don't know, but maybe you can find a stick that fits that body for your Fairlane.  Finding a stick for a body that does not fit your car is going to be more difficult.

They don't list a handle for the bolt on style that I know of.
I was hoping some one here had used the bolt on type and found a handle they liked.

Maybe the Fairlane shifter body is different, but every aftermarket Hurst Competition Plus shifter that I ever had for a Toploader, had the shifter handle welded on, and non removable. Seemed most other applications had a bolt on handle, as does my Toploader Hurst Super Shifter 3, as well as the factory Hurst shifter used in 1970 Mustangs/Torinos etc, although those were clipped in place.

I have a "factory" bolt on handle for a '70 Torino . Could be drilled to work on the "normal" Hurst shifter. $75 shipped to US address. I can't provide pictures so please don't ask. 100% satisfaction guaranteed , it IS what I say it is. Coarse thread and mark where the "set screw" on the "T " handle was tightened. Condition excellent , not "perfect" as it is pre owned LOL.

truck handle may work , I have cut the bottom down some and leave the bend at the top , drill the holes to bolt it on .
