Title: Supercharger Intake Tubing (Cold Side)
Post by: CV355 on June 29, 2021, 07:01:46 PM
Does anyone know of a good source for various supercharger intake tubing?  I've used Frozenboost in the past, but that's generally for straight and typical bends.  I have a situation where the 4" inlet of my F1 Procharger is pointed right at the shock tower.  I saw this tube from Vortech  that would be ideal except that it is for a 3" inlet.

I need a super quick 90... any ideas?

I might see if I can fit a carb hat in there and just tig weld a ring onto it for a coupler...

I was faced with the same problem in my Mach1.  In order to get sufficient airflow into the supercharger I ended up cutting a hole in the fenderwell with a screen on it, and then building a box around the inlet of the supercharger, using the shock tower as part of the box.  Also feeding into the box was a  duct from the air cleaner.  On the street the hole in the fenderwell was covered with a removable plate.  At the track, the plate was removed so that air could enter the supercharger through the scoop and also from the hole in the fenderwell.  Pics below:

That's an interesting idea...  I'll see if I can play with that and come up with a solution that doesn't require chopping any sheet metal.

Out of curiosity, were you running a stock block for any of your supercharged applications?  I know I asked a while back about FE block strength and got some good answers, just curious what you were running on that build.  My FE block is probably the weakest part of the entire drivetrain right now, everything else is built to 1200hp+.  I'm just aiming for around 700 on the street, zero track time.
