Title: Car Craft Intake Comparo
Post by: jayb on April 01, 2013, 08:29:00 PM
Got my June (!!) issue of Car Craft over the weekend.  They tested 19 intake manifolds for a small block Chevrolet, and reported peak horsepower, peak torque, and average torque on a 500+ horsepower engine.  Sounds vaguely familiar  ::), but all 19 manifolds were single plane, 4150 single carburetor intakes, and all are available right now.  Talk about selection!  Sometimes I'm shocked at the difference between the FE world and the SBC world...
Title: You must have seen the FORD Edelbrock only Intake Manifold Test on line now

After subscribing to Car Craft in anticipation of your 390 build I learned the popular car magazines now seem to put everything on line often sooner rather then later. I was checking if the article you mentioned was there yet and found this on Ford small-blocks. The Super Victor is very a interesting intake with it's tall runners @ the plenum much like a Funnel Web:

Also a GM is adaptable to any drive train or body with  adapters to fit anything including A/C.

Yup if they make it is made, they make for a sbc gen1. Back in the 50s it was the Flattie Ford, the rodders universe revolved around it.
