Title: VC gaskets
Post by: motorheadted on November 18, 2021, 08:45:08 AM
Are there any better VC gaskets than the cork Felpro ones ?   They appear to be porous,  especially the lower rear corners  are wet.

Fel-pro makes some rubber ones, SCE makes some that are half cork and half paper, and both work better than the straight cork ones.  Also there are cork VC gaskets that have a rubber coating on the outside; can't recall the manufacturer on that one.  Lots of options out there...

well I just ordered a set of E-bock gaskets, so we'll see if they solve the problem. Probably won't get them till next week.

FWIW, I like the cast aluminum valve covers over the stamped covers.  The rigid valve covers seem to seal better.
