real shelby gt500 beat on in an old movie
« on: April 28, 2020, 12:26:21 AM »
it's a strange movie, co-written by Jim Morrison of the Doors. The GT55 shows up at about 17 minutes. I havn't watched the whole thing yet, so I don't know what happens to it.

That’s Jim Morrison’s personal ‘67 Shelby, 67402F2U00939, that he bought new. Morrison called it “The Blue Lady”. Legend is Jim Morrison was involved in many accidents with it, until eventually he may have totaled it, although no one knows for sure. Many have looked for the car, so far no one has found it. A picture of his 4/30/69 California registration card is on the internet, that’s around the time that film was made.

And that, kids, is why you shouldn't do drugs.
Never could stand Morrison, or the Doors. One of the most overrated bands in history, IMO. Of course, if the car were found, it'd be worth a million dollars to someone.  ::)

Yeah, it was his car. Kinda' surprised it wasn't all dented up even worse.

An aside: on our trip to Paris in 1999, the concierge at our hotel opposite the Louve asked if we wanted to visit the cemetary when Jim was buried. I said thanks but even as a big Doors fan, we had far better things to see on our vacation.

I know of two Fastback shells sitting out in the fields here in Roswell. Likely have been looked at a few times by people looking for lost numbers.

You'd think Roswell fields would have been picked clean by now from people looking for bits for the UFO crash in 1947. Perhaps Mustang fastback shells are not as popular as I thought.
