Rally In The Musquodoboit Valley

This is the 50th anniversary. So I went super early and got #1. Someone forgot to print the dash plaques.
And I went early for the plaque.
I live in Musquodoboit Harbour so it is almost a local show. Great weather and over 400 cars. Most I've ever seen.
This was also the 5th anniversary of my 427 stroker running. I got the engine running a few days before
the show 5 years ago. Still running great. I did a 2nd gear burnout leaving the show today. Very happy.
I met Rory428 at the show. It was a pleasurer to meet him and talk FE's. He had his very nice 59 Meteor.
It also runs a very respectable time at Greenfield.

It was great to finally met you in person, Howie, too bad Rick (62falconowner) didn`t make it. I think that I have now met all of the FE forum members from Nova Scotia, all 5, unless there are more lurking around. I must be getting old though, driving the 59 for 2 hours, each way  on the freeway, with manual steering and brakes, no radio, or overdrive, on a warm day with no A/C, after being up since 5.30 am , made for a long, tiring day. Can`t wait to do it again next year!

It's very impressive you get 400 cars there. The Maritime rust capital of the world surprises me that there are so many nice old cars. I think here in BC they just weren't as well cared for so there's more attrition.

Tom, seems like a lot of the cars here in Nova Scotia either came from the southern US, or BC or Alberta, Walking around the wrecking yards here, and seeing 10 year old trucks with rotted frames, and  fairly late model vehicles with rusted out rocker panels and wheelwells was quite a shock for me. Also common for front subframes to rot away at an early age. Hate to be a flat rate mechanic working on all that rusty stuff!

Yeah, there is still plenty for me to do with my 59, like the steering wheel, installing the new headliner and windlace, window channels and glass runs etc, but after all the years getting it to the point of being able to drive it (this show was 2 hours each way, mostly freeway driving), a week after driving it to and from the dragstrip, and making 1/2 dozen passes, and taking it to at least 2 car events a week, the final details have been taking a back seat to enjoying the car. Hopefully the long Canadian winters will provide enough time to get more done.

I like the wheel. It looks well used and nothing wrong with a bit of patina.
My car oozes patina.

I am proud of Rory getting the 59 done (or mostly) and getting use of it because I saw it sitting for many years. It gives me incentive to work on my own stuff and perhaps be driving some of them in the short time i've got left.
