slip on collcetors

I have slip on merge collectors and was wondering what you all put in the slip fit joint to insure they will disassemble down the road when I have to take the motor out. Ultra copper permatex? Nickel anti sieze? What works for you. Thanks, Jim

I've done nevr seize without issue in the past.  The original headers on the wagon lasted nearly 20 yrs.

Unfortunately the new ones,  since the wagon has mashed everything up under there, I doubt I'll get them apart anyway???

LOL, same.  I haven't used any yet, but I'd put that silver Tin Man makeup anti-seize on there.  I have used that on slip on extensions.  Put a mechanical retainer on there LOL

I just use high temp RTV, seems to keep them from sticking and helps with the seal.

My mechanical retainer will be an "H" pipe about 3 ft' long attached to the floor.

Yeah, a couple of hose clamps and some wire that you can't make yourself but you can weld up your own roll cage.

Put a bead of ultra copper inside about a half inch in. The purpose was for sealing, not disassembly ease. This is on Crites slip fit collectors, good seal so far.

I actually use rubber pipe hangers and exhaust clamps.  Seems to do quite well for about $15 at Autozone.
