Hi
Here are some pictures I took last year when I started on it.
My dad bought this new and we rebuild it in 1978 did everything, stripped it to a bare body etc. Body parts were not available back so we just worked around the rust as it wasn't to bad back then but now was time to do proper repairs.
Last time we made some minor mods on it because it was just a car with little value back then so it no longer has all the stock badges and other things you would notice if you saw it on the street.
He ordered it with hidden headlights, shaker, buckets w/o console and a AM radio. He ordered it with a C-6 and a 330 something rear gear. He worked at the Ford dealership so I don't know if this was a special order car or the options he ordered were available.
Things I have done on this build are
1-Weld in all new floors and home built cowls.
2-Converted the vacuum headlights to electric.
3-Added Aldan coil over's and Global west tubular a arms.
4-Converted to Hydro boost 4 wheel disc
5-Changed rear end pumpkin to Roush-Yates Daytona Detriot locker 3.25 ratio with Strange 35 spline axles..
6_Added Calvert traction bars and mono leafs to rear.
7- Added home built frame rail connectors.
8- Built a 429 dynoed 536HP corrected at the flywheel.
9-I am adding a Holly EFI but have a carb on it now because Holly says to start a new engine with a carb. Have no ideal why.
10-Nobody makes a replacement fuel tank for the Ranchero so I converted a new 73-Ford F-150 to F350 rear tank with a in tank fuel pump.
Many more mods to to many to list.
Should make a nice street car.
Hope to have it on the street by may so I can start on the Galaxie.
I will enclose photos of my next project after I finish the Galaxie since you like the Torino style.
Greg
