Wow those are some stout numbers from that combo! I'd assume those CYL heads had a heavy hand in the results.........

I remember the reliefs coming in around 8cc's back years ago when I ran a set, and yes the comp height with those pistons makes for terrible 'quench"..........

#948220 Taylor is a nice quality cap, but is a "maroon" color. I believe a person could paint it if needed....................

Helping a friend sell his Fairmont. The car has a clean title, NO rust or major body damage, still has its original paint! Was a 6cyl/C4, now set-up for a "385"/C4 combo. The AJE FRT "K" member WILL accept a FE with different CYL block adapters. Car is/was fully streetable & has gone 10.80's on a terrible track with DOT radials. The car is being offered without ENG & Trans, but he will make somebody a deal on the C4 if interested. The C4 is a Broader piece with his transbrake & a Broader spec'd converter(10") The car is currently located in S/West Idaho(Emmett)   Asking $7000.00  Steve................................

Great catch Cody on the lifters! I would definitely DITCH those juice lifters for solids. Hopefully you have adj. rockers? The thinner oil I was thinking about I believe is Royal Purple or Redline 0-20W or 0-30W. Might be worth a try..........................

If your running open headers, ditch the PCV and consider a "Crank EVAC" system. Also might consider some "thinner" oil when you need to do your oil change...............

We have a very clean 70 F100 LWB(8' box) up for sale. Hate to sell it but to many projects. The engine(390) has a couple hundred miles on it since the dyno session(posted in eng tech section) The truck is equipped with the rare T85 R11 Borg Warner Overdrive trans, (would be good canidate for a TopLoader swap). Much work has been done to the truck(mandrel bent exh, all new brakes, etc) and it drives/stops well. Still wears the original paint. $5,000.00 OBO. Clear title and can be driven! We are located near Boise. I can email more pics.......................

I know what you guys are saying on the 10.5 comp. ratio deal. Flirting with disaster in this truck with the tranny gear splits as CJ mentioned! On the dyno a 1" plastic open spacer was used and yes the timing was optimized. It would be nice to send this combo with the comp. ratio & cam upgrades to a some what lighter chassis OR slide a C6 behind it in the truck. I have another F100 (69 STD bed 2WD) that came with a 302 C4 combo originally. I am seriously considering this similar 390 combo(WITH more C/R & Cam) in that truck with a FE-C4 bellhousing. Would make for a nice driver I believe..........I for got to mention on the Streetmaster that was used, I did cleanup the plenum and gasket match the runners 2" into each runner....................

Thanks Paulie and everyone else! Yeah, it sure makes a guy feel right when the 'combo' works out for the better! Especially when its with pieces that been have been around the better part of 4 decades. Its really inticing to play around with this combo. More compression(10.5ish), & cam and see how far a person could get with what little has been done to the cyl heads...............

Thanks for all the compliments guys! Probally could have squeezed some more out of it, but figured that's enough for what its intended for. The original drivetrain would not stand up to much more torque! Would have liked to use the appropriate "Yellow" wires, but had these sitting on the shelf so we used them up. At least it will have the big "yellow" coil hanging off the cyl. head!
