I have a scattershield that I cut a hole in for the early starter to fit. This works ok but changing the clutch is a pain because I can't pull the scatter shield off without pulling the engine. I wad hoping a later starter would clear the manifold.

I have a 64 galaxie with a 427 using the long tube iron headers. I tried to fit a later
ford starter but the iron header doesn't let the starter fit like the original long nose starter because of the bump on the side of the starter. What one will fit besides that long nose original  type?

I personally like to use the original cubic inch designation so people know what it came from.. such as a 427 fe. It's more informative to know it's a 427 than 430 etc.

I'm going to run E85 fuel in my 12.5 to 1 compression ratio 427. Using 2 holly 600 cfm
Carbs that have been converted by Justice Daniel. Has anyone had good/bad results using  gas station E85?

If it were mine, I'd pull the 390, bore it, and stroke it to 440 + cubes, some flattop forged pistons and a torquey cam. Smooth power for that beautifull boat.

I have a 390 zbar in my 64 galaxie with the iron headers and there is no problem. I had another 64 with iron headers and the power steering clearance was fine.

These heads were magnafluxed but maybe they didn't check the plug holes. Thanx for the info.

I was turning over my as yet unstarted freshly built 427 with high riser heads and I noticed some excess fuel was escaping In a fine mist from 2 plug holes. Could these plug holes be cracked and if so what's the fix?

I'm building a 427 with iron high riser heads and have a nice set of original cast iron headers. Does anyone know of any dyno comparisons of a 427 with and without iron headers?  In other words how much hp loss would they possibly give.
