I'll keep this brief, unlike my other posts. I had a great day today. It started last night by meeting a father/son team from Canada with an 8 second Camaro. Great people, and a real pleasure to talk to.
I made some suspension changes, some driver changes and finally made some real progress. Ran a 12.28 @ 115, let the car cool off a bit, then went back and ran a 12.27 @ 114. And that was with the engine starting to miss a bit on the top end and a tenth slower on my 60' time. It was a pretty warm day also, with temps hovering around 90*. Needless to say, I was pretty happy with that. With some more practice, I think I'll finally start knocking at the 11 second door.
A pretty successful week overall, and a lot of great memories. Except for last year's starter issue, this is the 2nd year in a row that the car has performed flawlessly. I love the RobMc starter I installed. It didn't even hesitate to start the car even after hours and hours of driving and quick fuel stops. Now it's time for some sleep, then a 10 hour drive home tomorrow.
A BIG congratulations to Scott Miller in his Cougar, and his father, Jack, for winning his class! A well deserved win, and 2 great guys.
