my bushings in my comets clutch pedal are shot.the pedal goes more sideways than down when you push it to the floor.i bought a rebuild kit.the question is,do i need to take the whole bracket and all out to fix it,or can i change the bushings where its at without taking the whole assembly out?

It can be done with it in the car... unless the soft metal bushings are worn oval then you need to take it apart to fix them.

If it’s that bad you will have to be lucky if just installing the parts while the bracket is in the car works. I’m afraid you will just buy a little time before the assembly has to come out. It sounds like the holes are hogged out bad. There was a guy I met at the FCA Nats this year who restores the assembly and sells it complete with pedals for $350?
Whose kit is it?

I take the setup out,it is just to hard to do in the car.
it will take hour's longer to do while in the car and your body will thank you when you are done.

I’m assuming it is the non roller bearing assembly that you have. I say that because the roller version one must require removing the bracket?

solid brass bushings
