I have always hooked the two wires from the Duraspark up with the red wire to the car's original coil wire (red/green strips) and the white wire to the one that bypasses the resistance wire for starting. Never noticed any RPM issues

Thats not the question Tom...Question is does it need a resistor..I dont run that harness as i run mechanical gauges and dont need the wires hanging around.I wire my Duraspark to the run side of the solenoid and unplug the harness.All my builds have monte carlo bars so i run the wire behind that.The question is...Does it need a resistor ????
