Sent by FedEx my Lakewood bellhousing to fab shop to have window put in and after a week of no show at shop I got info from FedEx that trailer caught fire and all goods are lost. Needless to say not a good situation as the Lakewood bells are discontinued and rumor has it the quicktimes have fitment issues. Does anyone have any real world experience with the QuickTimes in a 1967 Fairlane with headers??
Anyone have a spare Lakewood bellhousing for an FE part # 15210 or if it works Quick Time RM 6057 SFI
Thanks in advance. - John
Update: spoke to QuickTime and they won’t work with normal clutch linkage at least on Fairlane.

I have the 6057 SFI in my '66. I made it work without too much fuss. You may get some ideas here: http://fepower.net/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=8740.0

Thanks for the info Jared! Going to try and find a Lakewood first and if I don’t I’ll have to deal with the quick time situation. I did speak to Russ McCombs today the originator of QuickTime and there is no mention of a design change.

I doubt you'll find a Lakewood since they haven't been made in a very long time.
The Quicktime bells are available. In a clutch fork application, you may have a pushrod alignment issue, but as Jared says, it's not too hard to make them work. There is also a newer RM-6057 available with an 8:00-9:00 clutch fork position. It's about $20 more.

I used the Quicktime SFI bell in my '66 Fairlane. I have FPA headers and TKX with no fitment issues.

Doug,
That’s the RM-6056 in your car? I know you had a Lakewood is the clutch fork the same position as the Lakewood?
Getting an education on QuickTime bells, there seems to be a variety of options to possibly make it work without mods for top loaders/ Jericho RM-6057-9 description is OEM replacement with 9 o clock arm placement.
Brent- thanks for the info on those choices!

I've got a very old Lakewood here that looks like it's got a homemade block plate.
Bad thing is I'm over 1500 miles away and it is heavy and bulky.
Shipping would most likely exceed the benefit of a modern QuickTime.

I no longer have the Lakewood bell to compare with the QT however I did use the same clutch linkage and it seems to line up very much the same. I didn't check to see if the windows in each were in the same location.

Is the fork clocked downward? I have a smallblock QuickTime with both the starter and clutch fork clocked downwards. Looked to be ideal for the clutch cable to header clearance and starter to header. Until I had it in the car and was hooking stuff up. Starter laid on the tie rod and the cable aimed straight at it 3" behind.

Just a FYI, a used Lakewood for sale was just posted on the Ford FE Fanatics Garage Sale Facebook page today. Not mine, use the usual cautions when buying something online. Here’s a screenshot.
