I think it may be a little wide for a beehive or conical, but you could probably easily use a thick flat washer under the tool to make it work.

Well... We got the engine out and the heads off. Looks like it was running a tinge rich. Looks like someone had been in this engine once before. Pulled the #3 piston/rod. Bearing looks to be good! No scuffing on the piston. Looks like a ball hone job with fresh cast rings might be in order here.
Good thing it's being tore down. Little bit of water at one time was left in it. Corroded the bottom of a few lifters. I'll take pictures of some of it. Just to show you....
2 of my buddies helping me out with this. Chris (on the right) a old high school friend and Pappy (his call sign) Wes, my Vice Base Commander  giving me a hand with this.

So I pulled all the pistons/ rods out of this guy. Bearings still look really great in this engine. The pistons are on the tight side of the engine bore.
I started to look at all the cylinders and noticed on the number 6 hole that it got water in there some time ago. I also noticed the pistons are .020 over. So getting rings here on time would be a bear... I was planning on buying a new set of rings for this. But after seeing that cylinder and a couple others, I'll stick with the cast rings that I already have.
So as you can see I did some oil mods to the block. You look at the mains. Number 1, 2 and 4 the oil galley holes don't line up. Die grinder could fix this really easy. Also with the oil filter adapter there is another plate sandwich between the block and the oil filter adapter. You could see that I have rounded them for flow.
Next using an old cheesy ball hone and went to work on the cylinders... A lot of them cleaned up very nice and look really good. I used penetrating oil as I horned out the walls.
For the deck of the block. I used my super scrapers the clean up the deck. And followed up with using 80 grit sandpaper, I used a big long block sander. Remember this is a backyard build that you could do and in your own garage .

As you can see. I will be doing some oil mods to this. A little clean up

To clean up the Deck... I used my trusty Super Scraper and a long sanding board.

Did some more oil mods to the backyard build. It's getting a High Volume oil pump stuffed in this guy. Not that I need it but I have it already. It's a Milodon oil pump HV. So I'm going to put it to good use.

Here is a easy way on pulling oil galley plugs out of the block! Nothing fancy and it's kind of crude but it works. You should be able to dig this kind of stuff up out of your shop. It works extremely well. Pictures say a thousand words LOL

Here is the sandwich adapter for the oil filter adapter. Its a must have for my boat.

oil filter adapter. Before and after. This should help in the flow and maybe help in keeping the oil a little cooler

SPRING COMPRESSOR
I have one of these also. Nice piece. I still use my old thinner nylon rope though cause I can feed more in and with pop up pistons it tends to work its way in place and. Hold the valves up well. First time I seen that rope trick was when I was like 12. Pops was putting seals on the 390 66 galaxie.
Tim has some nice stuff. I got one of his stud girdles in the past. Made a few of my own since then, shushhh lol. Ill be using one on my build here soon.
