My cousin and I are always looking for things to do on bike trips. He was told that there are several car museums in the Kalamazoo, MI area, which would make for a nice ride for us. Does anyone in the area have comments on where, or which ones to go to?

The Gilmore auto museums are just north of Kalamazoo, could keep you occupied for a couple days.

How far is Kalamazoo from Detroit?
Several years ago I went and picked up a 289 engine core from Barry, took the family, and we went to the Henry Ford museum. Car stuff galore, plus some *really* cool historical stuff, such as the car that Kennedy was shot in, the chair that Lincoln was shot in, the Rosa Parks bus, etc.

Thanks, Katz. Did some looking up and there's no shortage of them in that small area, that's for sure!
Brent, Kalamazoo is on the same plane as Detroit, just 2 hours west. The Henry Ford Museum is most definitely a great museum, as is Greenfield Village (yes, technically not a museum). If anyone is interested in history, I highly recommend them both. If you like flatheads, I also highly recommend the Early Ford V8 Museum just outside of Auburn, Indiana. There's some really cool stuff there.

Gilmore car museum in Hickory Corners MI. Short ride from Kzoo in the country. You won't be disappointed

If you go to Auburn check out the auburn cord and national truck museums

The Gilmore deal and the Kalamazoo Air Museum are good targets

Air Museum? Hmm, I had not heard about that one. I'll definitely have to check it out. Thanks, Barry.

Yep, the Air Museum is top notch for sure. Being Summer, some planes may be out on maneuvers (air shows!) nationally. Well worth a stop.

Don't miss the Gilmore no matter what. It is SO much more that you would ever expect.
