now that I have your attention, does anybody have any experience with hooker super comp. headers. some listings say they won.t fit power steering,  anybody know why?  pump, lines, cylinder?

I don't have experience with the 6205 Hookers, but I can take a guess. I believe the early Galaxies use a power steering cylinder that attaches to the steering linkage similar to a Mustang/Fairlane. Later Galaxies it's done in the steering gearbox. On the Mustang/Fairlane the issue is the power steering cylinder that attaches to the steering linkage getting in the way. The header companies make a bracket that lowers the ram on one end to provide clearance for those applications. I don't know how the ram attaches on the Galaxie, maybe you could make something similar, maybe it's not possible. Hopefully someone can provide more info.

well, I paid $325 for them. ceramic coated brand new in a sealed box. never seen these under $880. Thought it was a screamin deal. I do have a manual steering setup somewhere from a 62 merc. if need be.
