Well after using my vertical mill for the last couple months I have decided I need an aluminum magnet.

If you were machining transparent aluminum, the chip issue would at least appear to be less of a problem. 8) On small things, my shop vac acts like a "aluminum magnet".

I'm glad this is about a milling machine..... 8)
Calling an engine a "mill" or a "bullet" makes you sound like a hormonal teenager. ::)
Had a customer once that we were installing a Auburn differential and a set of 4.11 gears in his POS bow tie half ton.
He kept repeating over and over..... "I'm gonna put a bullet in it".....
Ya, you need to put a bullet in your brain dumb-ass. :o
Sorry..... I'll go yell at some clouds now..... or maybe yell at some kids to get off my lawn.... ;) ;D

"Mill" for motor would be a cool cat from the 60s that never really grew up. ;D Heck, I've been known to let that word slip out once in a while. In old guy company though.

Groovy set of posts, I say. Rad to the max. Far out too. Right on guys, right on.........

HEAVY MANNN............ ::)
Scott.

I always thought for an engine to become a "mill", it needed at least a 3/4 race cam, some pop up pistons, and a mean set of pipes.

Tough crowd!
I use all of that lingo and more. And will continue until my last breath.
I like my full race bumpstick!
Peace-out!
Carbies, Cali, Eddy heads, and "I seen" are what make my skin crawl.

The Mill Winders Car Club was formed in August of 1955 as a result of friendships developed at the M.H.R.A. owned drag strip. Original membership started at 40 members and today stands at 29. Through the mid sixties, the clubs major activity revolved around drag racing with the distinction of having two of the nation's top racers, Don Garlits and Art Malone, as members.

I was cruisin' in my Stingray late one night
When an XKE pulled up on the right
And rolled down the window of his shiny new Jag
And challenged me then and there to a drag
I said, "You're on, buddy, my mill's runnin' fine
Let's come off the line now, at Sunset and Vine
But I'll throw you one better if you've got the nerve
Let's race all the way
To Dead Man's Curve"
....
Just a little deuce coupe with a flathead mill (deuce coupe)
But she'll walk a Thunderbird like she's standing still (deuce coupe)
She's ported and relieved, and she's stroked and bored
She'll do a hundred and forty with the top end floored
Ricky.

If you can jive "We had twin pipes and a Columbia butt" along with "ported and relieved, stroked and bored" and "chopped and channeled" we can dig you man, you're one cool cat. 8)
