Royal Purple oil is on sale at the base PX by where I live.  It's the high zinc synthetic stuff made for classic cars with flat tappet cams.  Price is $5.30 a quart.  Should I be buying a bunch of this?  My engine has less than 200 miles on it since the rebuild last summer.

Wow thats about half of what I just paid at NAPA. I think I'd be buying a case or two. But I'm not a fan of running full synthetic oil in a new motor.

my engine builder told me to stay away from full synthetic oil in my new 428.believe it or not he told me to run that truck drivers oil,Rotella,he said it was one of the only traditional motor oils with zink
