FE Technical Forum / Re: Whats Your Iron Head Prefference?
« on: October 27, 2013, 03:51:01 AM »
Is there any difference in flow from the
C1s to the C4s? I have both and i cant see
any big difference betwen them--

I dont Think the size or nr of cylinders matter that
 much
I have a 6 cyl Mercedes 3 liter 180 hp and my son
got the same car but with 4 cyl 2.3liter 130 hp
Same engine just fewer cylinders
And when i drive both of them they get exactly the
same highway milage
Takes the same Power to travel att same speed.
And the V8 mercedes 5.0 liter 328 hp my wife have
get the same highway milage when i drive it but
its more streamlined and heavier so you cant compare
them

I had 275/60r 15 BFG on 8.5 American racing TT
and it touched on one side(outside) if i had people in the
rear seat
Now i have 255/75 or 70 i dont remember and they
clear with full load hard to get in and out of the Wheel
house though
So with a carefully centered rearend i Think 275 is possible
without cuting anything.
If that is of any help for you

I was cleaning and organizing my garage. So it would
bee nice and Clean when i started building my 390.
And i found the rockerpanel i made for the wifes
Opel rally Kadett. She bought it some yers ago
beacuse it was so small and cute in lipstick red ::) ::)
She drove it for a while but noisy (4.44 rearend)
bad heating some rust issues......
So i traded some work for 2 fiberglass fenders and
a paint job.
Well i thought i better weld in the new rocker , after all its
just a couple of hours work ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)and then of to
the paint shop and i can sell it woohhhoo
Well i have to mount the fenders to...  allright a couple of hours more
Better to sand down that other rocker from loose paint and rust
eehmmm...fiberglass filler >:( >:( well i have to fabricat a new rocker
for that side to......there is a lot of holes in the front gravel pan from
auxilary lights better weld them shut before paint....And those dents
better to smooth them out with hammer and Dolly than just bondo over them
and...........
I dont know if i work slow but those few hours of work have
taken 3 weeks of my life, the shop is a mess again. But just
a few hours more and its of to the paintshop ::) ::) ::)
why o why ......i should sold it or gave it away as it was
I Think this  tread should be about the idiots ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ive seen them before .... Think they tested and found
the hot exhaust passing over the tires helped with the
streamlining or downforce or both or something :-\

Maby ...to make it idle with that cam, The butterflies is open so
much that fuel is drawn from the mains. It gives a to rich idle but
goes away at higher rpm. The fix is to drill small
holes in the butterflies

PS I realy like 61 starliners, The most beautyful ford of the 60s
in my opinion. My nabour has one but no FE in it just a 5.0 ho
and i still regret a black/red int 4spd 406 i let getaway from me
in the 80s ds

I use only silicone sealer as exhaust gasket
I know it sounds like a bad temporary fix
but since i started using it i have never had
an exhaust leak
Before that there was Always a header leak
after running it for a while
