YES!!!! CARLISLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   caps are not stuck on I am just excited about CARLISLE!!!!!!!!!!

A guy near me  will be taking his 66 Comet Cyclone. I put a picture of his car is in the member projects titled Dan the Electrician.

I will be there with my 69 Cougar Sports Special---blue with a white top.

I missed last year as I had my gall bladder pulled out a couple days before.  Plus, I was getting prepared for the Cougar Nationals.

If I could hijack this tread slightly...trailering cars into PA...PA changed their laws several years ago and now you need brakes on on four wheels and a breakaway box.  I am not sure if they enforce this on out of state trailers but in general PA is a liberal tax and fine haven so just be aware.  Most enclosed trailers are equipped this way.  However most surrounding states only require brakes on two of the four wheels and no do not require the breakaway box, so for instance people in Ohio, Michigan, etc only have their open trailers setup for their local laws.

Hope more decide to go if they are in the Northeast.

Babybolt,
Thanks for the update and warning on the trailers.  Hopefully PA. Wouldn't be nit picking on something like this unless there were other obvious problems with the trailer or tow rig.  Still good info and I won't get on my soapbox about why wouldnt you want brakes on every available wheel, only makes since to me.  No matter how many brakes you have if you don't perform preventive maintenance and make sure they are working, so if you only have 1 brake axle on a tandem make sure they work well.
Hope everyone has a safe trip!!

Which direction are you coming from?

On Thursday morning we are heading out of Massachusetts to New York's Taconic Parkway to I-84 to I-81.

We expect to be on the NY/PA border around lunch time.

Also make sure your hitch ball mount is solid steel. Do not use 2" square tubing. They check that. 6000# plus (trailer & load) needs a solid bar.

I'll be around the Fairlane Club of America tent most of the time on Saturday.

I'm a short drive compared to most, I'm north of Dayton 40 miles.  Haven't looked at map yet but guessing I'll be going across I-70 for part of it.  This is my first Ford Nationals, so looking forward to it.

Hey FirstEliminator, Are you driving your car or trailering it? I am about 30 miles north of you. Thursday morning we will be heading over to Albany and down to Newburg from there.

I am driving the Cougar.

If you are not trailering, any chance you'd like to take some of the scenic route along the Taconic Trail?

We will be eating at a diner in North Adams Thursday morning around 7:00 to hopefully leave around 8am. The diner is called Big Shirl's Kitchen.  You are welcome to join us. We are a couple miles east of Rte 7 on the first left you can make onto a paved road after coming into Massachusetts.

30 miles...eh? Sounds like somewhere around Arlington, VT?

       What are you driving?

     thanks,
