FE Technical Forum / Fairlane at Sickweek
« on: February 04, 2024, 03:33:23 PM »
Day 0 of sick week ripped the front half of the pinion out of the rear  messed up an axel bearing. Fixed it that night at 1:00 am started up the car and it had no gears we believe it broke the sprag in the trans my week was over before it started 🥲

The run before this pic. I had water leak from the trunk someone said my car was leaking  so the track people backed me up into the water looked under the front and pulled me back into the beams. I let go of the trans brake it went up in smoke I let off it then hooked and the tires were bouncing off the ground. We believe that’s what caused the damage  it just let go on the second pass

Non-FE Discussion Forum / 3G Alternator
« on: December 29, 2018, 10:35:39 AM »
So in my never end build. I came across an article in the new Hot Rod magazine about Alternators. Just as I was doing that very thing.
Bought all the parts List in the magazine article. What an easy install !! the alternator holds voltage even at an idle (800 rpm)
cant say enough about Delmar Wire!!  Easy to order and got all the connectors in 3 days during Christmas time from California to Florida
If anyone is looking to upgrade or just replace a worn out alternator do this swap you will NOT ever regret it
As Usual I a having computer problem connecting my phone to get Pictures. I'll work on that.   Get he latest copy of Hot Rod has all the info

Non-FE Discussion Forum / EFI fuel pressure problem
« on: December 17, 2017, 12:13:16 AM »
So I put a few miles on the new BP engine without the turbo’s and after running for a while the fuel pressure drops the pump makes more noise  I have a  eliminator fuel pump with a return system AN-10 supply and AN-8 return , also the controller is set for fast speed at 3000 rpm  I got home with the pump making 1-10 lbs ! The tank temp at the bottom was 76 deg some of the fuel lines was 100 deg
Is it vapor locking ?

FE Technical Forum / EFI fuel regulator
« on: September 28, 2016, 12:01:09 PM »
I have been looking thru the multitude of regulators trying to decide the best one to buy for my EFI FE build
I was looking to run -8N lines off both fuel rail ends and a -8 return back to the tank.  My supply side is a Aeromotive eliminator pump -10 line to a Y that splits to 2 -8 line to the fuel rails .  So as written the regulator is on the return side of the system, my first question is how big is the passage through the regulator? The oriface can't be 1/2 inch ? So do I really need the biggest regulator Aeromotive has ? I understand at idle the engine doesn't use much fuel and I will most likely get a pump controller to slow the pump down below 2000 rpm . But what are your thoughts ? What do you have on the Shelby Jay ? Pic looks like a A1000 ?
