SOLD---SOLD---SOLD
New-in-box---Commander 950 progressive linkage Electronic Fuel Injection carburetor replacement. This package contains everything to convert your four barrel carb'd V-8 engine to EFI, except for the fuel lines. The fuel pump, all the electrics, the instructions and software and everything else, is in the box. I got this to replace the Holley EFI that I put on my truck close to 15 years ago, but never got around to installing it and it has just been setting on a shelf in my garage. After you get it running you'll need a laptop to tune with. All the hook-up stuff is supplied.

Holley told me that this sold for "about $1800.00" when it was superceded about two years ago. The replacement kit costs "well over $2000.00" so when you get this from me you will have paid less than half. Give me $950.00 and pay shipping for about 15 pounds from Metro Detroit to you and get into the 21st Century!

Can anyone give a succinct explanation of why the 'C' pillars were found to be unacceptable?

Jay, a quick glance at a beam-style torque wrench will show you that the handle is on a pivot pin in such a way that the force is all concentrated at the pivot point. Might it be that the CENTER of the handle is the point at which the weight hanger should be placed?

Barry R might stop in here sometime soon and add to this, but I've seen work he's done that, among other things, has had the milling operation you describe. He has no problem with doing so.

FWIW, I'm told that the inexpensive beam deflection sort of torque wrench is very accurate up to the point where the beam is overloaded and takes a permanent set. I, therefore, simply use, every-once-in-a-while, a 1/2 inch socket into which I can 'jam' the 1/2 inch drive on my Snap-On dial-type Torque wrench and use one against the other. What shows on one has, so far, showed on the other. And, at least around here, you can buy a beam-style for about $15.

With a fresh complete fill, simply re-mark the dipstick. You are obviously cross-breeding parts from several sources and the factory marks seem to have lost meaning. A new file scratch and always orienting the handle the same way will put you right back in the game!

You might change to R&P steering and a late-style pump.

Jay, the Jag engine for my land speed car is distributor-less and makes use of a coil-on-plug layout. The problem is that the individual coils are about the same size as your thumb and are prone to failure. I'd therefore decided to make use of the same sort of arrangement you are using. What is the source of the coils you are showing in the pictures above? Thanx!!!

I never noticed any problem with the gray/black but since this brought it to my attention, I can say that it's perfectly legible.

Although this forum and the 54 version are definitely allied, neither would completely take the place of the other. In particular the cutting-edge technology found here is worth its weight in gold.

Just offhand, it looks rather poorly done. Thin stock and warping. On the other hand, Wayne Gapp had a single plane TP manifold modified by Anteau so that it became a Hilborn set-up and ran it on a Cougar he called, I think, 'Top Cat'. Since the spacing on the throttles wasn't quite the same as the runners in what was left of the original manifold, Anteau had to get a little creative with his 'Heli-Arc'. Brother Lon found it, some years later, at a garage sale and paid something like $50 for it. After it decorated the bench in the back of his garage for a few more years, he sold it once more!

After reading through this thread, I went to the window, looked out at my '63 F-100 for a few minutes, and then went over in the corner and had a brief cry. SOME DAY!!!
