FE Technical Forum / CVFwater pump question.
« on: January 02, 2019, 04:44:23 PM »
Hi
I wanted to order one of the CVF electric water pump for my 428 useing jayb's adapters.
They have a Ford #B-BBF-EWP and  I needed to know if this is the pump that every one is using.
This is the same pump I ordered for my 71 Ranchero [429] and if I remember correctly it flows 35 gallons per hour. The post I have read say they flow 55 gallons per hour.
I can't find a 55 GPH pump anywhere in their catalog.
This will be for a street motor that will only see the strip 4 or 5 times a year but I still don't want to over heat it in our Oklahoma summers where the temps in the summer can hit 112 to 117 at times.

FE Technical Forum / Crower cam saver lifters
« on: January 02, 2019, 11:26:06 AM »
Does anyone have any real world experience with these lifters?
I will be putting together my 428 this summer and have a new Comp Cams set but was wondering about the new lifters.
Do they really work or is it just hype?
Thanks

FE Technical Forum / Air Gap with JayB's adapter.
« on: December 29, 2018, 11:32:50 AM »
Hi
I am ordering Jayb's 351 adapter for my 428 Monday and decided not to use my Stealth intake with it.
i was looking at Summit and read the air gap specs and instructions. They said to use the intake on the 4v heads even though it is made for the 2v heads.
My question is has anyone port matched this intake to the 4v spec?
It sounds like in the instructions that you may run into some thin walls on their intake and I don't want to ruin a new intake.
By the way Jayb's book came in yesterday and what a great book. It answered a lot of questions that I have wondered about for years and is crammed with good info. I recommend it to everyone.

FE Technical Forum / 351C intake adapter questions
« on: December 20, 2018, 12:24:41 PM »
Hi
New here but have been watching the site for a few months.
63 Galaxie 428 C6 forged internals aluminum heads. This is a street driven car will take a few trips a year going to the strip but not a all out race car.
Before I order I have a couple of questions on the 351 adapter.-
1-It looks like on the pictures of intake install  the front of the intakes are cut out. Is this to show the access plate or for cooling?
I will be running a Sniper EFI unit and wanted to use my Wieland Stealth duel plane intake and was wondering if the bottom of the intake is going to interfere with the access plate on the adapter. I don't mind port matching because the intake is a 2V intake.
I suspect my cam is a little big for what I want to use my car for and will be changing it out in the future
I received the front quick change timing cover and it was very good quality so I am not worried about the quality of the adapter.
I will buy a new intake if I have to but I want a single 4 BBL. and the Edlebrock2863  recommended in the advertisement on FE Powers page shows it is for a 351 w on Jegs website. Is there a good 4v intake duel plane that could be used?
Thanks
Greg
