Sounds like the infamous Shoe cap saddle would be what Joel is looking for.
. I did something slightly different than JDC's setup. I had taller steel caps machined so they are level with the pan rail  then a girdle lays on top  pinned in place and bolted down with studs through the whole assembly/  A lot simpler to machine..  You think that 392 needs more bottom end beef?
