Look at this filter adaptor

Filter adapter sourced from ebay, as I was cleaning it up some I noticed this crack. Seems like Ive seen this before but not this pronounced. What say the committee?

You sure that's a "crack" and not just a seam found in cheaper pipe? ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipe - like cheap black iron water pipe.

Doesn't look like a crack to me, but like Kevin said. It'll be under compression on both ends, so I wouldn't see it causing a problem.
