Lentech AOD question
« on: February 05, 2014, 10:17:37 PM »
I recently bought a Lentech AOD for the Bad Byrd, so now I need to sell the Built c6 and New TQ converter, my question is anybody out there running one and what did you do for a TV cable and bracket?

I am all set-up for the C6, so I have a Billet carb mounting throttle cable, but truly had no intentions of using a kickdown..........I have always shifted my auto's so never found the need for one. But this is a totally different situation so a little help or opinion is necessary.

Other question I have is 3.70 or 3.89 or 4.11 gears to go with this AOD? I am thinking 3.89.

Can't help with the AOD questions but for gears, I'd calculate the final drive ratio for the overdrive + the rear end and shoot for around 3.25.  That is a nice, streetable gear, and should let you run a pretty deep gear, maybe the 4.11s, in the back.

Thanks Jay..............I am just going to have 2 set-ups ready to go, 3.89 with a spool for the track and 4.11's Trak loc for the street. Because of the rear suspension modifications I have done " 4 bar set-up and coil overs with the narrowed rear end I can run a 17" wide rear tire under the car without any issue's. I also have a Trans brake and a 3800 stall with the AOD..............so launching at a high RPM will help with those 60' times.

I have not quite got a handle on the whole TV cable set-up thing and what it is going to look like, I am one of those anal retentive people when it comes to the looks of things...........so anything factory is out of the question.

Actually looks like I kind of have this backwards, I need to run a 3.89 on the street with the 335/40-18 I have in the rear and a set of 33 x 14.5 slicks I should be running a 4.30 Spooled rear end which will send me through the traps at about 5500 RPM's
