Yes tire shake is a problem for sure... I put some home made slapper bars on it that helped a lot, but original springs and stock shocks and soft suspension bushings make it tough. I failed to keep an eye on my tire pressures, and when i finally checked, thay had crept up to 28 psi.  Dropping them down to 25 help a lot to launch it.. Finally got under a 2.0 60ft. I do have a 9 inch 31 spine and 1350 joints in it.  It was never meant to be a race car but got pressed into service because my others are not race ready.  New springs shocks and bushings are on the list for winter project

Steve,
Most nostagia gasser organizations specify "suspension of the sixties a must" . Car build is based on concept of actual 1960's gasser look and chassis technology at the time.

The Meltdown rules seem to be a visual only.As witnessed from the stands. The first pair in the video shows that the MD people are members of the SLA...scrub love'n association..'s.(70's style tunnel box hood)The scrub was said to have a Patty Hearst shifter too.

Yes, the rules are heavily written to keep the period perfect look.. There is plenty of modern stuff underneath  Like the ubiquitous LS. Rules say that if you are running a non period engine you have to keep the hood closed.  I will have to say that I have never seen so many Hilborn injected cars in one place..  And running well.. The southern Gasser group are really purists.. No parts of any kind on their cars predating 1966. And they run HARD..

The Wagon.... Hope to have it at the Hunnert Car Heads Up in Sept.  If the EMC engine is finished.. Should have the 545 back on the dyno in a week or so
