Title: 1967 Ford Country Squire 390 4 speed 12.91
Post by: Towd56 on July 21, 2022, 01:48:28 PM
Attached is video link for my best pass in my 67 Country Squire. The car has a Lykins built 390, 4 speed toploader, 4.70 9" rear. It is in stock street trim with all the interior (including the 3rd seat). Weighs 4,640 with me sitting in drivers seat.

This is my best pass yet . 12.91 with a 1.71 60'. I have been playing with the launch RPM and this pass it was launched at 4,300 rpms. During this day I was fighting some weird high rpm misfire which I have since resolved and hope to get a better number soon.

The link below contains the pass which was at Lebanon Valley Speed Way in NY, during Hemmings Musclepalooza

What the video doesn’t show is the crowd’s reaction when Dennis’ wagon comes down the return road, ( which is right in front of the bleachers at Lebanon Valley). Win or lose, fast or not as fast, people just love seeing that thing making passes. I know I do.

I'm diggin' the wagon!  8)  What have you done with the suspension? It looks to be getting good weight transfer.

Thanks. Suspension is stock set up with upgrades - good shocks on front and back and I made solid upper and lower arms for rear. The shocks helped quite a bit.

That's the plan so far. I have three engagements to attend that weekend.  I'm planning on getting to two of them.

I need to get to Beaver to drop off two transmissions!  One for you and the other is returning my GF5R back to my sponsor.  He plans on attending, so that works for me.  This of course weather permitting.

I have a local car show on Sunday that I involved with and need my trailer there.

I'm going to miss the Modified Production stick race at Indy that I really want to attend.  I've never been to Indy and that would be a really cool race to run.
