I just finished sonic testing a 428 CJ Block. The thinnest point I found was at the bottom of one cylinder at .138". That one spot about 3/4" from the very bottom on the Minor thrust side. Very small isolated spot then the numbers started going up. All other numbers were pretty stout. I'm assuming this block could safely go .060" over? Currently standard bore. If I remember all 8 Major thrust sides (thinnest measurements) were between .185" and .235". Did 8 points per cylinder. I was kind of surprised that the cylinders do seem to have a little bit of meat. At least on this one.
I have no plan on going .060" over.

Look on your local craigslist or facebook marketplace. There is almost always stock engine take outs pretty cheap. Old and dirty but cheap. More than likely, they will run just fine.

That's what I thought. Wasn't sure if the Cammer came with the "Nascar" crank with the wider rod journals. Thanks

Just wondering if a Cammer takes the same crank as a regular 427? Yes, Cammer would have been steel.

Something doesn't sound right. Somehow water got in the engine. For that much rust had to have been exposed to high humidity or water. I have bare blocks that have been in my garage for 25 plus years only very light rust on cylinder bores.

First question > How long is a long time? 5 years or 40 years?

I have a moroso pickup with the exact same problem. How did that screen get a hole in it anyway? In that motor at the time (years ago) I was running 20-50 oil. Now I run 10w30 synthetic. Those screens are pretty tough metal.

OK, I might have been thinking about the 66 that just sold on BAT.
10/4 on everything, looks like a plug in the rear of the housing so probably correct, ignition?
I do believe the sidewinder is correct though for a 67 W code.

What parts would that be?
Car did sell though.
They worked something out. So it sold I'm sure above 127K.
