Maybe but.....if someone can source the missing sheetmetal ('glass in this case) it could make a great all-out race car. Those cheapie Cobra knockoffs are pretty light and with a low-buck '10 foot' paintjob (looks good from 10 feet away...LOL!) it could be a real runner! Weld in a F/C style roll cage from Alston or S&W Racecars and its ready to race.

That's what I thought when I saw it!
A Cobra  would really stand out from the Vette roadsters in the staging lanes....Dark blue, white stripes, gumballs on the doors..

It would be fun to build a drag car out of one of those replicas, and one thing for sure is that you wouldn't have to worry about the weight advantage that the late model Mustangs have; they would have to worry about the weight advantage that YOU have...

that way you could keep what seems to be a VW floor pan, though I think the popular Subarus are turbo 4 cylinders, not 6 (the N/A six was known underperformer, not much more power than the N/A four)

Or maybe drop the body on a drag race tube chassis that is easy to work on.

As near as I could tell from driving by it, the body has been chopped up to fit on a VW chassis. If you look close in the pictures, there is a section of body missing under the door opening. I don't think he was the initial builder. He is a wheeler-dealer type and probably traded some other junk for it. He's had it a long time, I can't believe no one has jumped on it.

Ouch, thought it was on a replica Cobra dual tube or square tube front engine chassis! 

'Course, I like the super gas chassis idea as one could slap that body on in a day's work.

Someone thought the hood of the 'Cobra' was the lid to a toilet and made a deposit. If the owner was really looking for something different he should have gotten a lot of squirrels together and built a parallel set of squirrel cages for them to run in. You'd just have to throw in a handful of nuts every little while. Nice carbon-fibre work though.

That's funny Ken! I do like the look of that Cobra but wondered why they didn't use a Ford engine. Heck a Coyote, Boss or even  V-10 Triton would have been better.

Mercedes Engine here and probably cheaper
