Yes I do, I will post some pics ASAP. Hopefully will get her back on the track in a couple of weeks. It's a blast going down to the track with an FE powerd foxbody. Most people haven't got a clue what a Ford FE is,but they respect it once they see it run.

We are pretty pleased of the way the car is performing for only having 10 runs on the new build. We are still working the bugs out of the new combination. Rory428 is right about not having room up there with the stock K member. We changed everything over to an AJE K-member and coil over struts. it has a Flaming River manual rack and adjustable lower A-arms. Lots of room for the headers, even though we have some tiny ones in there. Bandimere is a hard track to go fast on, considering we don't have a lot of air to work with. But hopefully will find a few more tenths. Clint

The rocker we was a stock ford adjustable. It broke right behind the adjuster. The cam is lifting .660 on the exhaust and .640 on the intake. I think the biggest problem was our geometry . We ran it 5 runs last weekend and it ran pretty good. I'm going get in the shop and pull the valve covers and see how things look.

Well we finally got the mustang on the track this year. Two years ago we threw a old wore out 410 with cobra jet heads and comp 292 cam in it and went racing. Our best time was a 12.89 @ 105 mph, which isn't bad for Bandimere.  So naturally we needed to go faster so we got a hold of Brent and bought a stroker kit and stroke it to 445. Brent had a custom cam ground for us. We put C4AE-G heads ported with 2.125 intake and 1.71 exhaust valves. First time out she ran 11.87 @ 114 mph, but broke a rocker arm. So we up graded everything in the top end including the rocker geometry. We went with P.O.P everything including there roller rockers. So last weekend was All Ford fun Day and our best time was 11.58 @ 117 mph. Were still taking easy on things and only shifting at 6000, but soon as we get her broke in will turn it up to 6500. That's the rpm the engine is built to run "hopefully."

I know this is a dumb question, but how do you know when you need to shim your rocker stands ?
Thanks Clint

Make sure you check the clearance in the bore with the exhaust valve. It is very close to the cylinder wall with a cam that is lifting over 0.650. We built a 445 using a 40 over 390 block and got the stroker kit from Brent with his custom cam. The lift on the cam exhaust side is 660, at full lift with lash and Head gasket we only have 5 thousandth side clearance. Our valve sizes are 2.125 on the intake and 1.70 on the exhaust. It works, the motor runs fantastic, we have it in a 79 foxbody went from running high 12 with a 410 to running mid 11 with the 445 at Bandimere. Good luck with your build. Clint

FE Technical Forum / Re: Which Oil ? documentation?

Here in Colorado there is an old drag racing team by the name of Kenz & Lesile. They held the land speed record in the mid fifties with a mil ti engine flat head powered streamliner. There mostly known for there cammer powered Cougar, car number 777. Ron Lesile still has about 5 or 6 cammers still in crates.  When they retired from racing they started a distributor ship selling BG oil and fuel additives one that is fantastic for the older flat tappet engines is there BG MOA oil additive, I own an auto shop and put it in every oil change. It brings the lubricity up on any oil, including the synthetics. I have a 66 Mustang with a pretty healthy 351W with a solid cam and have had zero issues. Just my 2 cents. Clint

I am going to drag race a 410 FE in a 79 foxbody Mustang. I bought AJE K member with adjustable lower A-arm and a flaming river manual rack. For headers I am using headers that fit big block Mustangs from 68 to 70 on the left side just have to turn one pipe over to miss the body. On the other side I bought some headers that were custom built for a fox body with an FE. The right one fits perfect with a little body modifying. For the pan I am using a rear sump from a 76 F-250 high boy that had 390 in it. Just have to modify the pan to miss the rack. Hope this helps. Clint

Private Classifieds / Headers for a 410 in a fox body Mustang
« on: March 31, 2016, 08:44:16 PM »
I'm going to race a 79 Fox body Mustang with a 410 FE and I need a set of headers. The only place I found them was at D&D Automotive, but when I contacted them Bob said they don't make them any more. So I was hoping maybe somebody on here would have a set they want to sell or a suggestion on what I could use. Thanks Clint
