New old stock never mounted.  Romac SFI balancer for your FE

$200 obo

This unit came out of my 69 Torino and is in really nice shape.  I believe it would fit a 66-69 but double check on the 66-67 models.

The heater never leaked but I would still replace the core as it has sat a long time.
I would bet this is somewhat hard to find especially in this kind of shape.

Before I put it on fleabay, Someone who really needs this contact me an make a fair offer.

I have two sets of headers for sale.

1st Hooker competition race headers.  Two sets of collectors, multiple primary tube pieces to tune the primary lengths.  They were blasted long ago but have some surface rust.  They have the typical dents and dings from use and the lowest hanging portions are flat spotted.  Very usable with some TLC.  $350 obo.

Second A set of 6114 Hooker super competition headers with the power steering drop bracket.  These are uncoated with surface rust but in very good shape.  $175 obo.

Private Classifieds / Custom AL radiator for Mustang or Fairlane
« on: April 13, 2014, 01:24:07 PM »
I have a dual 1" core AL radiator brand new never even mounted.  The radiator is set up with an integrated auto trans cooler and custom AL fan shroud set up for dual electric fans.

The dimensions are 22" tall by 26" wide with a depth to the fan shroud of 5.25".  The fan openings are 12.25".

The shroud and the tanks are polished.

I bought this when Unique performance went out of business and was going to use it in my Torino build.  But now I am going with a C&R radiator with integrated oil and PS coolers.

It was originally designed for a 68 Mustang when Unique was building Elenors.

$500 + the ride.  PM,  or E-mail, if you have questions or are interested.

Here is his post from the Lat G forum.

The plan started out as the former but became the latter. :)

Been looking patiently for an old vintage truck/hauler combo for almost a year and finally found one I really liked. But it couldn't be further away -- New Hampshire. No problem. After a few calls with the seller (ebay listing that did not meet reserve) it became a good enough reason to fly out and make a road trip back out of it all.

Since the truck has a 360" FT (beefier version of the FE) motor, the man for the job of co-pilot and Chief Fjord Engineer could only be that Torino guy, Rob.

Ok, pics do the best talking. Here she is in all her 34,000 original mile glory.

And here is the rough route we plan to take. We are heading up to get the truck next Thursday Jan 16 and are actually picking up a Camaro for a friend and bringing it back to Socal. So there's more justification to take a trip. :D

So if anyone is along our route, wants to try to meet up for a beer or just shoot the shiat, hit us up and we'll see if we can make it happen. Also, if you have any advice on what roads to avoid or fun car or eating places to hit, we are open for suggestions.

We are meeting up with Payton in NC to hook up and see some NASCAR related shops there for a day. I'm sure some beers will get drank.

Rob is a fish taco & waffle sandwich snob and I am a beer snob so we are on the lookout for breweries and cool eats. We are using this site as a guide so far. Pretty cool.

3400 miles. No overdrive. A 40 year old truck none of us have ever seen before. Probably 8 mpg. What's not to like?

Wish us luck.   :popcorn2:

Private Classifieds / 1969 Torino 4 spd pedals and a hydrulic clutch set up
« on: November 17, 2013, 01:37:27 AM »
I have a set of Torino 4 speed pedals that have been rollerized with a kit from mustang steve.  I drove the car maybe 1000 miles after installing the rollerized kit.

http://www.mustangsteve.com/clutchbearings.html

I also have a Modern Driveline hydrulic clutch kit that is brand new.

http://www.moderndriveline.com/catalog/hydraulic_masters.htm

So I am asking $500 for the entire set up.

that's

a $275 hydraulic clutch kit
a $125 roller bearing upgrade for the pedals
a nice set of 69 Torino pedals for another $100

If you are looking to do a 4spd conversion this would be a great set up.

I can no longer use the stock pedals in my car otherwise I would keep all this stuff.

PM or e-mail me if interested

FE Technical Forum / Anyone running a motor plate?
« on: November 04, 2013, 02:03:21 AM »
I'm sure more than one guy on this forum is running a front plate with their FE.

What brand of plate are you running?
Did you cut your own plate?
Are you running a front plate and a mid plate or a front plate and a trans mount?

Chris Alston sells one that looks to be a good starting point but only mounting using the water pump bolts makes me feel uneasy.

Member Projects / Blair Patrick needs to get to work on this Mustang
« on: March 19, 2013, 09:29:12 PM »
John Norris and I met up with Blair in Ft Collins CO last weekend to pick up our motors and help load this little gem.  It is Blair Patricks car that John Cooper painted.  Personally I was afraid to touch it, it was that clean.  One teaser picture for now.

FE Technical Forum / Anyone running E85
« on: February 07, 2013, 01:16:33 AM »
Has anyone run E85 in their FE?

What has been your experience?

Have you seen a disparity in fuel quality from pump to pump or has it been consistent?

Any corrosion issues or drive ability problems?

What kind of mileage compared to gas?

I've been a member of some FE forums for years.  I've always wanted to build a stroker 427 with Tunnelport heads.  I've never seen a true high effort TP build posted.  Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen anything with TP heads that screamed.

Most of you have seen Jays post about dyno days at his house with the 498 Blair built for me.  It tells a story but not the whole story.

Three years ago I found a nice set of heads and intake that I bought from Rich Mastro.  I found a nice used Pond Block.  A couple years ago I found Blair Patrick a true gentleman and a savant with the FE.

I had several restrictions with my TP build.  Like his stock class 352 that Jay posted and performed really well for what it is, Blair got stuck with many roadblocks to building max hp on my build.

My TP build does not represent a max effort TP from Blair.  It was build first with durability in mind.  I wanted several things and some of these "goals" fight against each other.  I am building a street legal road racer.  Yea than makes sense right?

http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=10645&page=25

1. I wanted it to run on pump gas so I can drive it whenever I want.
2. I wanted it to be mild mannered enough to drive it on the street without hating it.
3. I wanted 650+ hp
4. I wanted 650+ hp with as broad and flat a powerband as possible
5. It needs to be able to run 20-30 min sessions on a road course.
6. I don't want to be tearing it down all the time

I bought the block, heads, intake, carb and oiling system.

Blair listened to what I wanted and said he could do what I wanted.  He didn't force me into anything but educated me on the pros and cons of each choice.  He built what I wanted not what he wanted me to build. In the end he nailed it and then some.

It isn't 13 to 1 so it's giving up a lot there.
The cam makes more than the power goal I originally wanted but is "small".   The lift at the valve is only about .630 well under where max flow of the intake is but also it's easy on the valve train.  It also appears to idle with authority but still pretty mild at a reasonable RPM.
The exhaust side of the head suffers from Fords mistake in design.  Blair could have fixed it and it would make a lot more hp.  I just didn't want to spend the extra $$.  He said he could meet my hp goal without filing the floors and he was dead on.
We could have gone bigger on the bore and gained CI but it cleaned up at 4.255 so Blair said leave yourself room for the future we'll still make your hp goal.

All I can say is anything Blair said the motor would do it does.  Hearing it on the dyno it just wants to keep running.  Smooth as silk it never seems to labor, no hiccups, it just pulls.  He brought a 4150 carb he said would run as well or better than my Dominator.  I have no reason to think it wouldn't since the one he brought to Jay before did the same thing.

When I first contacted him he said "I like building these things and don't cost any more than a chevy guy"  Man that was the truth. He didn't blink an eye about the idea of taking it to Jays dyno to prove what it would do.

I've spent the same or more on heads and machine work before but never got the level of performance.  I've seen plenty of stories on forums of problems with parts and machine work.  I think as a paying customer it is as important to tell people where they should go to get what they want.

Thanks Blair

FE Technical Forum / CVR electric water pumps?
« on: July 21, 2012, 04:45:13 PM »
Does anyone have any experience with CVR products.  They have introduced a modular 55 gpm electric pump that should support hp levels over 600hp.  They sell FE specific adapters to run this pump.

the issue to date has always been the FE specific pumps such a Mezereie were only rated to 35-40gpm.  Jay adapted one of the Lima specific 55gpm pumps to his High Riser but if these pumps have a good reputation it seems there is now an off the shelf part that can be used on big hp mills.
