From memory most of the expansion tank radiator systems were equipped with 13lb radiator caps.

When choosing the cap pressure be certain to include the heater core in the equation.....I've seen a few of the heater cores get blown open after installing an aftermarket aluminum radiator supplied with 18 lb caps.

Just a thought.
The buyer gets no warranty with this "new" purchase so a price incentive might help you sell this item.
MSD is pretty dang good...or they used to be, so maybe they would service you under warranty without a receipt, but any buyer should take a no warranty mindset anyway.

They look like the old (late 1990's early 2000's) JBA headers I have on my 66 Galaxie.

The flanges appear thick and durable and the welds look good too.

My go to, favorite, engine and parts cleaner is Dawn dish soap mixed to suit the needs of the job.
Get some brushes that will allow easy brushing access to all ports, channels and areas......but don't get cheap brushes because they almost always lose bristles.

Scrub, rinse....and rinse well....more....still more.....now its rinsed, dry, oil treat.

This is a messy job, but easy to do.

Yes.
The 7-Litre cars were originally equipped with a "torque tube" drivesahft.
This was used as additional noise, vibration and harshness abatement to end with a really quiet, smooth driveshaft......that eventually fails due to the rubber going bad over time.

Quiet and smooth were part of the goal in 1966 and this is but one portion of the whole.

I spent way too much money and time trying to get my original 7-Liter's driveshaft in owrking order.......don't bother unless you are building a real, 100% concours competition show car.

The trouble with the torque tube driveshaft is they will slip and the yokes will become out of phaze and this will cause a vibration.....from slightly noticeable up to chipping your teeth as you drive.
They don't usually get too long, or too short as they slip but once they are out of phaze the balance is ruined.

I had my torque tube driveshaft redone and as soon as I had my 428 rebuilt, with a bit of extra power.....nothing special in my car (420ish HP and 480ish TQ) it twisted the newly redone driveshaft because the rubber insert could not hold the torque.

I swapped in a solid driveshaft and have never looked back.

Yes, the solid driveshaft rings when hit....like they all do.
Yes, the solid driveshaft transfers more noise than the torque tube, especially when shifting into driver or reverse......you hear the clunk more that with the torque tube driveshaft.
But none of that is beyond anything every other car with a solid driveshaft experiences, so yes, it is noisier, but it is not noisy by most measures.

Remove, tag and keep the original torque tube driveshaft if you desire.
Then get a solid driveshaft from a non-7-Litre (LTD's used them too) or get a driveshaft made and never look back.

Sorry to Hijack but while we are on the subject of C6's I have noticed mine getting a little soft on shifts the last couple of times I have driven it. I had turned the modulator down slightly as it was very violent (would bark the tyres when not wanted) so thought I might have gone too far. I went in and turned it back up (in) but the adjuster screw was wet with fluid and 1/4 of a turn made no difference when it would usually be significant. So I think it might be rooted.

It is of course adjustable, screw in, silver zinc with what looks like the remnants of a white stripe. My questions are, how many types are there, what is the difference and is one replacement brand better than another? I want to put on exactly the same type as it has now as it is very well suited. Thanks.
First, if you have trans fluid in the vacuum tube, or coming out of the adjuster port, your modulator diaphragm has ruptured to some extent.
Eventually this will get to the point of the vacuum hose filling with fluid and being sucked into the intake....at which point your heart drops due to the HUGE cloud of white smoke billowing from the exhaust.

This is sort of a good/bad thing because at first you will think your engine is done......Then you find the modulator leaking and your day is all better because now you only need to unscrew a modulator to fix things.

There were a few different modulators back when these were the normal transmissions in use.
Today there are basically two (2) "stock" styles to use and there are a few performance versions you can source from trasnmission parts suppliers.

But your auto parts store, or Summit, or other places, can get you what you need.....just be certain you get the proper style (push in, or screw in)
They are spendy now too, often costing between $75-$100.

You will find the two available stock styles with a green stripe, or a white stripe.
The greens stripe is considered the "standard" modulator.
The white stripe is considered the "performance" modulator.

These work within a certain range of vacuum to best suit the engine vacuum profile.
Both will work, but you may not get high enough rpm before a shift with the green stripe....although it still goes pretty high itself when adjusted in all the way.

Some of the older modulators, with adjustment, could be turned enough to "unscrew" the adjuster.....what happens is the adjuster screw threads unseat instead of being retained by the adjuster screw.
All the way out and the adjuster can fall out, but not usually.
All the way in and the adjuster loses its place on the nut and tends to have a variance at times.
Both can be reinserted and adjustment restablished, but you have to be careful because finding the right spot for thread engagement is sometimes touchy....other times it just screws back in with no issue.
As always, be certain you still have the rod inserted into the modulator before screwing the modulator back into the transmission.

This situation has been taken care of.
Through the forum a complete engine and transmission 352FE, factory 4bbl, Cruise-O-Matic, was attained and will become the new driveline for the 1962 Galaxie.

My friend has a 1962 Galaxie with a 352 and the 2spd automatic.
The auto needs work and he is considering installing a C6 instead.

I just don't remember if there are any bolt up issues with the 1962 352 to a 1967-1974 C6 for an FE.

If there are any "better" transmissions that will bolt up please let me know.
This 1962 Galaxie is just a fun cruiser with mostly stock everything.

I was not aware there were different versions of the pent roof Mercury script valve cover.
I know there are other Mercury script FE valve covers, but those are not pent roof style.

The versions I have...or had...are the 1966/1967 style with the lightning bolt and plug loom holder in the center, and technically the cover I am trying to replace is the one with the twist on hole rather than the round hole....but I can live with either.
