FE Technical Forum / Re: Typical FE Oil into coolant issue.. Or not.
« on: July 01, 2021, 08:55:10 PM »
Don’t have the problem yet, just prepping for it.
I’m running a hydraulic roller with pushrod oiling to Brent’s roller rockers can I just plug the passages near the cam bearings. The rockers do allow for shaft oiling.

Company called “Mustang Steve “ has a roller bearing conversion that works very well. You might take a look at that. Check the diameter of the through shaft the kit may work. Or you could make your own.

If my FE gets that internal leak I would block those feeds off completely and go with push rod oiling.
I’m almost 100% blocked now running a hydraulic roller and Brent’s non adjustable rockers.

It’s said that alignment techs are forced to go by 55 year old bias ply tire alignment settings due to liability worry’s .

The number is 0- +1/2 camber, +3-4 castor (both the same) 1/8 toe in. Works great on street driven Mustangs.

I hate hearing stuff like this,if I was close I would align your car....

FE Technical Forum / Re: Advice on an intake
« on: June 07, 2021, 11:23:55 PM »
If the question were revised to, "which of these intakes would be best when combined with throttle body EFI", what would the answer be?

My FAST ez2.0 sits on a Performer RPM,mixture distribution improved with an open spacer. I would run a street master if I had another one on hand.

What is he running for a fan ?

52
Nothing wrong with your tire size choice. I’m running 235/45 17 front and an 8” wheel and 255/45 17 rear on 17x9.5’s.

I’m sorry you have fallen in old car hell when trying to have work done in the modern world.

53
If your lower control arms have stock type bushings the car has to be sitting down with full weight before they are tightened. If you don’t do this the front will be high until the bushing tears. The upper spring perch if stock can also hold the front up. If the alignment guy jacked the front up and didn’t know to settle the suspension ,(sometimes happens when alignment heads are in stalled) then when you drive a bit the alignment will be wrong.

54
Bare with me....
If all your front end pieces were new, especially the springs you will get a bit of settling.
I’m guessing your seeing negative camber .
What was the front end set to when you had it aligned ?

My go to setting for Mustangs is 0 camber, 3 1/2 deg caster (more if power steering) and 1/8 “ toe in

I have run -1deg camber but tighten the toe up to 1/16” and I have not seen any feathering of tires.

If the front settled that will toe out the tires ,that will chew them up pretty quick.

You can check toe for your self with a tape measure,my tires have a center grove that wakes it easy. I would check that for yourself first then go from there.

I made it home again this time with the Mustang. Rutan Pass was a treat this time. Either snow or hail got dumped on the summit it was like driving on gravel for about 5 miles. The road had some heat in it so it seemed to melt and created twin rivers for the tires to ride in.
Mustang is a filthy mess but un harmed.

Keith believe it or not even your post above pushes JAYS NO POLITICAL DISCUSSION RULE.

JAY and only Jay runs this site he can delete or block anything he sees fit,I’m ok with that.

I don’t have the highest post count here but I have been here from the beginning,we all know what’s going on in the world but an old engine forum is not the place to fix it.

I went to the off topic page, made an off topic post and am grateful to the ones who offer info to my query. The first post it went off should have been skipped with no comment on it. That’s what I do.

Everybody here has a political opinion ,just like a certain body part, but this isn’t the place to hear from either of them.

Someday we may meet , we can all high five our politics, and rip on each other in person but not behind a keyboard!

Thank you to all who positively replied to my gas question last week, that went off the rails and got locked.
We made it to our new home in Colorado safe and sound but now I have to go back this weekend and do it again!
I have to bring my FE Mustang home!
If you see a blue 68 Mustang on a trailer it’s me,and it’s not broken!

Worth it!
Although a shoe change will help get the feet out first.
Way back I got to drive a Pantera, my size 12’s had me driving in my socks, still worth it!

Yes sir, that’s the route. We have driven it many times in the last 3 years.

That is the first hand info I was hoping for.

It’s not like the big freeze, where stations had gas but couldn’t sell it because the power kept going out as the stations re-booted the register’s.

Thank You
