I’ve been chatting with a guy I’ve bought Mustang parts from in the past and he’s got a few FE intakes he is willing to sell. I need advice on them as to which one would be best for a 445 build or if I should just buy a new Performer RPM and call it a day. I’m not partial to any one of them but wanted to see if any of them are worth buying over the Performer. Keep in mind this is going to be mostly a street car, so mostly low to mid range power usage.
This is what he says he’s got and what he is asking for each of them.
eldelbrock streetmaster $500
hipo 390 factory ford alum $500
police interceptor $700
Thanks in advance.

Sent you a PM.

It might depend on your exact combo, but at those prices an Edelbrock RPM would be the way to go 90% of the time, hands down.

Brent’s, I replied to your pm regarding the intake

Seems pretty high for a Streetmaster, you should be able to buy one for around $350. I'd probably be looking at a Performer RPM in your case, or else find a cheaper Streetmaster...

Gave $75 for my Streetmaster in great shape. Not a boast just don't let someone price gouge you.
I would buy a new RPM before I gave 500 for used Streetmaster.
And truth be told you would probably be happy with the Performer you already own.
Recommendation, sell the performer buy an RPM or as mentioned a more fairly priced Streetmaster. Good choice either way. Wouldn't consider the other 2 unless you wanted them for nostalgia reasons then its just personal preference.

I missed the part where he said he already has a "Performer"?
-
If the question were revised to, "which of these intakes would be best when combined with throttle body EFI", what would the answer be?
-
Heck I've got a streetmaster will sell for $250. For a street 445 with strong low/mid range the Performer RPM be a good choice.
Regarding TBI FI don't see the answer as any different. If converting to port injection the streetmaster be easier to convert.

You didn't miss it. He didn't say that he did.

PM sent if you still need one.

My FAST ez2.0 sits on a Performer RPM,mixture distribution improved with an open spacer. I would run a street master if I had another one on hand.

Thanks to all for the input on this. I actually went to see Lee at Holman Moody a while back after I started this post and bought one of his new HM logoed Blue Thunder medium riser intakes, so I am all set for now.
