Anniversary of the Thunderbolt, Beaver Bob from Beaver Springs Dragway, has come up with the following race within a race for qualifying!!! Who is going to step up and take home the money, trophy and one of a kind jacket!!!

"We'll have a 50th Anniversary Fastest Thunderbolt Record

Cars will run in a special time trials section only.
We will crown the 50th Anniversary Fastest Thunderbolt.

See our website above for more information about the 2014 FE Race & Reunion.

There are only two rules for this event, you have a 1964 Fairlane (Thunderbolt) and run a FE. Bring it and hope you brung enough just like 1964...

And we don't care if your hood has hinges or if it lifts off!!!

FE Technical Forum / More FE Race and Reunion Coverage
« on: November 05, 2013, 08:08:53 AM »
The December 2013 issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine has 5 pages of coverage from the 2013 FE Race and Reunion. We even made the cover!!! The magazine is now available on newstands. Rod Short did a great job on the article and has included some awesome photos.

This is the latest in a ton of coverage that the event obtained.

First Bangshift.com gave us great online coverage:
http://bangshift.com/blog/action-gallery-the-beaver-springs-fe-race-and-reunion-blue-oval-horsepower-heaven.html

Then Jim Amos and Bee on video came out with a killer DVD:
http://beeonvideo.homestead.com/FE427.html

And now the magazine coverage in Modified Mustangs and Ford.

Next year will be even bigger and better. We hope to see you all there on April 25 & 26 2014. Spread the word, word of mouth is the best advertising!!

Check this link out for all of the coverage from last year to get you through the winter!!

Thanks again to everyone who attended and made this possible. A big thanks goes out to Barry R and Survival Motorsport for his great support and commitment for next year.

FE Technical Forum / FE Race & Reunion Update and Request
« on: January 11, 2013, 12:02:03 PM »
Doug Bender and myself are having a meeting with the Beaver Springs Dragway track owner, "Beaver Bob" McCardle tomorrow morning. This meeting is just to discuss the progress of he event as we move towards 4-27-13. My question to you guys is there anything you would like to see happen at this event? After all the event is for all of us FE guys and we want to make it something you guys enjoy!!

Just to recap this event is open to ALL FE powered vehicles. The entire facility will be devoted to nothing but FE powered vehicles. We won't be over run with 5.0 Mustangs!!!!

There will be a FREE car show for FE powered vehicles with trophies awarded. There will be three drag racing classes, Hot FE 0-12.99 and Street FE 13.00-and slower. We will also have a quick 8 dial in race for the 8 quickest FE powered vehicles determinded during time trials. There also will be tons of time for those who just want to make time shots without worrying about eliminations. Grudge races are very welcome!!! We are also working on a few match races involving some very cool and fast FE cars. The track prep will be on kill and "Beaver Bob" will be racing his own '63 427 Galaxie!!

Oh, yeah it's free to be a spectator too!! What other event does that???

Our own Barry R. and his Survival Motorsports have come on board with the title sponsorship of the event and will be there to discuss and show his new heads along with hopfully racing his own car.

There will also be numerous other vendors there with their FE related products.

BangShift.com will be there and covering the event for their awesome website too.

So to get back to my original question, is there anything you all would like us to discuss with "Beaver Bob" tomorrow? (within reason) LOL... No, we can't make Beaver Springs Dragway closer to your home.....

FE Technical Forum / FE Race and Reunion & Survival Motorsports
« on: December 01, 2012, 07:01:19 PM »
Survival Motorsports has agreed to become the lead sponsor of the FE Race and Reunion to be held at Beaver Springs Dragway on 4-27-13. As you know Survival Motorsports and it's owner Barry Rabotnick are highly respected in the FE Ford world. The addition of Survival Motorsports as the lead sponsor takes the event to a entirely new level. "Beaver Bob" MCcardle from Beaver Springs Dragway is very excited to have Barry and his company involved with the event. Barry is also VERY enthusiastic about being involved with the event. Rumor is he possibly will be assembling a engine for his personal Torino to participate at the event!! It was great to get these two longtime FE guys together at this weeks PRI show in Orlando!!

Stay tuned for future announcements regarding the addition of class purses that are the direct result of having Survival Motorsports coming on board. We are still looking for additional sponsors to partner with us to help make the FE Race and Reunion become the greatest gathering of FE powered vehicles ever.

On April 27th, 2013 (4/27) we will hold the first annual "FE Race & Reunion" at Beaver Springs Dragway in Beaver Springs, PA. This is an event celebrating the Ford FE Big block. It's a low key, high fun event. Track owner Beaver Bob of Beaver Springs is giving us the track for the entire day. An IHRA 1/4 mile drag strip at our disposal. We will have racing, TNT and a car show/cruise. There will be 2 FE race classes. Hot FE 12.99 - under and Cool FE 13.00 and up, bracket style. Beaver Bob is supplying trophies to both classes. Racing fee will be $40. When not racing we'll be testing and tuning so if you don't want to competitively race you can just have fun and make passes at your own pace all day long. All FE powered show cars are admitted free and eligible for an award by Beaver Bob. All spectators are free as well. I am trying to set up some good match races from some top FE racers. What else could you ask for? A drag strip with only FE powered cars. Beaver Bob has told me, he's not worried about the numbers but I think it would be in our best interest to support a track that is willing to do this for us. For everyone involved we hope it pans out to be an annual affair. So if you ever wanted to see what your FE can do in the quarter mile head out to Beaver Springs Dragway for the "FE Race & Reunion" on April 27, 2013 10AM-4PM.

We have everything covered for a successful show but it would make it nicer if we had some door prizes or prizes for the class winners. Parts, apparel, books, etc... all would be great. So if you are a shop owner or FE vendor and want to get some recognition (i.e. advertising time) won't you consider sponsoring some items or donating them?

The event flyer is at http://www.fairlanet.com/fe mark your calendars as we hope to see many of you FE aficionado's head North to Beaver Springs Dragway. We're 5 months away and will keep you all posted and reminders will be often. You may see posts on other sites as well and don't forget to tell your FE friends.

I hope I covered it all. If you have any questions you can email Doug or me (see flyer).

The Ford Big block FE engine was produced from 1958 until 1976. Sizes in cubic inch include 332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410 427 & 428. If you’ve got one in a running vehicle bring it out to Beaver Springs Dragway on April 27, 2013.

Go to www.beaversprings.com and click on the schedule link. For those looking for something to do on Sunday, Beaver has their weekly Summit ET series racing.

We also have a Facebook group established to keep up with information about the event. To join click here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/422744294447955/

FE Technical Forum / ***FE Ford Powered Get Together 10/29/11***
« on: August 15, 2011, 05:08:40 PM »
Is anyone interested in an informal get together of FE powered vehicles at Cecil County Dragway on 10/29/11? They are running a RAM series race that day and always offer a test & tune option as part of the day. The last couple of years I've attended this event and gotten as many passes as I've wanted. The track is always prepped very well for this event and the air is usually killer at Cecil that time of year. I'd almost guarantee you will run your best pass ever there during this event.

I've talked to the promoter of the RAM racing series and we can have our own section of the pits too. We could do a little grudge racing and some serious bench racing too. Very informal, just a chance to get together before the weather turns.

The only cost would be the normal test & tune entry fee. Cecil County is in Maryland near I-95 for those that have never been there. Very easy to get to with lots of drag racing history there.

I'm not looking to make a dime on this. Just trying to get a group of FE powered vehicled together for a good time. You don't have to race to be part of the event. Just show up with a FE powered car or truck and park with the group in the pits. It doesn't matter if you have real Thunderbolt or a Edsel. If it's FE powered show up and meet others with the same interests in engines.
