should I be happy with this?

Gents,

I just "won" this on evilbay hoping to cure my noisy hydraulic lifter problem.  Is it good quality?  obsolete? value for money?

run it ford power parts is darn good stuff,  I would still measure the pushrod length to make sure.

I don't have any experience with the FPP set up, but they're probably fine. The seller commented in the ad that he thought they may be a Dove set packaged by FPP, I don't think that is correct. My Dove rockers are not bushed. Dove also uses a ball & cup pushrod, the FPP uses a ball & ball pushrod and the Doves I have and have seen use a different end stand set up. Just an FYI.

FPP and POP rockers are virtually identical. Very minor differences. I believe Doug from POP originally designed those rockers at FPP. Also, it is hard to tell in the picture, but are the top two rocker studs necked down for oiling?

Thanks for the replies,  Seems I may have some quality parts coming.
FairlaneGT427...  good idea I will need to check,  by block was decked .010 but I don't know what was done prior to my ownership.

 Yes Jared,  there is one pic of the rockers studs by themselves and the longer two appear to be necked down,  They maybe too long for my edelbrock heads though, the stock longer rocker bolts were too long in there.

I think you did ok. Love them or hate them if it wasn't for guys like Ron and Jim back in the day keeping FE high performance alive we may not be so lucky today to have all the great new modern parts available.  They do look alot like the pop setup and either way I think you got a very decent setup  and goodies  to go along with it for a good deal..

What's up old gal I have the same rockers  and they were designed by Doug when he was at FPP and I have the same pushrods and stud kit and lifters the stud kit has nicer washers than the newer sets and I use them with my low riser and now I use them with my survival heads and they are offset for intake and exhaust valves I had two rockers go bad raced from 88-96 every Sunday car sat for 18 years got car back together and drove it on the street for three years about 5000 miles IMO a great set I like the oil hole at the end for a little extra oiling. Nice pickup

The pushrods have a smaller ball end on the top than normal. Those rockers work fine and you can get individual replacements from Doug if you need.

Yeah, sorry that's aussie dollars,  around  $660US.

This may be a stupid question but can I run the solid setup on a cam designed for hydraulic?   I've been looking at longer duration cams to suit this set up but they are all going to push the torque band further up the rev range.  Currently running a Comp 262H.  I like the sound of the Comp 282S but it may become a dog around town and suck fuel on the highway. Motor is +030 428, ed rpm heads, performer intake, shorty headers,  2.25 exhaust, compression is around 10.2/1 (180psi cranking pressure).

Is anyone running a similar set up with a 282s?  What's your experience?
